Lawyer graduated from the Universidad Externado de Colombia and Doctor in Commercial Law from the University of Paris. Diploma in Economic and Financial Administration from the Institute of Public Administration of Paris. Certified by The Hague Academy of International Law. Diploma from the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets in Rio de Janeiro.  He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Universidad Externado de Colombia and served as Director of the Department of Commercial Law, as well as of the Specialization and Master’s programs in Commercial Law. 

He has served as Secretary of the Commission for the Revision of the Commercial Code in 1973, President of the Drafting Commission of the new insolvency regime 1994, Judge AD-HOC of the Constitutional Court and Judge of the Council of State, Third Section, President of the Commercial Lawyers Association of Bogotá and Consultant of the International Monetary Fund.

He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Law, teaching courses in Commercial Law, Corporate Law, and Bankruptcy Law at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Member of the Forum of Arbitrators of Colombia. Participant in the Comparative Legislation Society of Paris-France, Member of the centro de Arbitraje and conciliación of the Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá, Member of the Colombian Academy of Jurisprudence, private consultant and advisor to companies in commercial and corporate law matters.
