Lawyer from the Universidad Externado de Colombia and Specialist in Business Law from the same University; with a Master's Degree in Business Law (MAJ) from the Instituto de Empresa de Madrid (Spain); Master in Commercial Law (LLM in Commercial Law) from the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde, (United Kingdom).

Research Professor at the Universidad Externado de Colombia, in charge of the Insolvency Proceedings and Commercial Law II (Business, commercial establishments and companies) undergraduate courses; of the Seminar on Insolvency Proceedings in the Specialization and in the Master's Degree in Commercial Law. He is also the director of the magazine of the Commercial Law Department, Revista E-Mercatoria.

He has also served as assistant judge of the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice; lawyer and Coordinator (e) of the Group of Concordats of the Superintendence of Corporations; and lawyer of the Group of Distinctive Signs Fund of the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce.

He is a member of the Ibero-American Institute of Bankruptcy Law; the Ibero-American Institute of Law and Finance; the Colombian Institute of Bankruptcy Law; Insol International; Member of the centro de Arbitraje and conciliación of the Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá and judge of the Civil-Family Chamber of the Superior Court of Cundinamarca.
